Rubbed my tongue against the back of my two front bottom teeth and a little chip fell out. I don't brush my teeth all time so thought i would floss and another bit chipped off. Why does this happen and how can i stop from my teeth from falling off. I'm Only 15

Well tell your mother or father to make you a dentist appointment and have them looked at to find out the issue. If its just a little rough they can drill/file off the rough surface and it will be fine. Pay attention to your teeth, it's the first thing people notice and helps you make friends with a nice bright clean smile!

If it chipped from anywhere except the biting edge then it probably wasn't tooth structure that broke. Thick tarter can build up on the back side of your lower front teeth especially if you don't brush at least twice a day and floss once a day or see you dentist at least twice a year for cleanings. The tarter that builds up is very close to the color of your teeth, but is much weaker than the tooth structure. Once it becomes thick enough the tarter can chip while eating, brushing or flossing. You need to see your dentist for an evaluation ASAP. Tarter is a symptom of gum disease that can lead to you losing some or all of your teeth.

Although some grinding may be nessary as part of the process, porcelain inlays are probably the solution. A good dentist will match the color of the porcelain to your teeth. I had a couple teeth done years ago along my gum line were the soft part of the teeth had become exposed and was sensitive. They still look quite natural. The product that is used can be made into any shape and can be used to correct all sorts of imperfections. Good luck and I hope you find a skilled and consciencious dentist.

Ouch, that's a tough one... I see two options for you, from experience. One, accept the chips in your teeth - they shouldn't impact you in anyway in life (unless they're sharp - in which case you need to be careful when giving head...). The only other option is to get them ground down and replaced by fake teeth. I had to do that with one of my upper front teeth. It was so chipped that I had no option. It was either live with a terrible gap in my smile, or have it ground down and replaced. It was painful, and when I remember, I have to be careful about what I eat (can't eat things that require pulling with that tooth - have to remember to pull with the other side). But I've got a great smile again... Wish you luck in what you decide. Its an uncomfortable decision. -dh
