I just got braces on today and I hate them. I wanted Invisalign but the orthodontist didn't answer any of my questions about it and kept beating around the bush. I ended up getting clear braces and I feel like I was really forced into it. I remember sitting there today saying "I guess I really don't have a choice except to do the ones everyone's making me do." but they really didnt care. I hate them so much. They don't hurt too bad but they're so ugly and I can't stand them and it just feels like I was forced into this whole thing. I know that my parents paid a lot of money for it but this is day one and I'm tempted to pull them off with pliers and I have to keep them on for eight months. I hate them so much and I can't stop crying. I'd rather have a small little gap in my teeth rather than having these stupid things for eight weeks. How can I get these things off/get Invisalign? I can't stop crying and I can't believe I made this stupid decision!

When i first got my braces all i wanted to do was take them off. they are uncomfortable and ugly but now that my teeth are straight the pain was sooooo worth it! I hear that invisalign is really expensive and only works for SOME cases. Just keep them on, you will get used to them so much that youll hardly notice that they are there! Your orthadontist knows more about teeth than you do so your better off going with their judgement than your own. Like i said youll get used to them... its a process that alot of people go through these days!

Goodluck, youll be fine:)... just KEEP THEM ON!

The orthodontist didn't answer your questions about Invisalign because he didn't want to come out and say that he doesn't recommend them for teens because they won't follow the directions.

You sound like a young teen, so the ultimate choice is your parents' choice. They are paying for the braces, so they get the final choices. Here is your choice -- either put up with the braces and have straight teeth OR not have braces and have crooked teeth. And if you pull them off with pliers, you will be facing expensive dental work to repair the damage you will do.

You are acting like a small child. This is eight months we are talking about. Quit complaining and learn a lesson. You can't always have what you want. And be grateful that your parents can afford braces for you.

Please don't take this the wrong way but: You're being a *****.

Invisalign costs considerably more then braces. Sure, braces aren't the 'hip' thing to have, but people honestly don't care. They really don't. The last time kids actually cared about braces and glasses was the 1950s. It's not like "Oh, you're a cool person" without braces then "Oh, ****, you're useless nerd!" with them. People don't think like that. They aren't that stupid.

I'm gonna guess that you're a teenager. Because you're acting like one.

You know, when I was a child I truly needed braces. Nothing would have made me happier then if someone gave me braces. To this day - my teeth are crocked. Just because you notice them doesn't mean anyone else will.

Your dentist probably /did/ beat around the bush. Invisalign costs twice as much as braces. Furthermore - Not every mouth type can handle invisalign. It could very well have been a physical thing. As a matter a fact, the majority of people don't qualify for invisalign, you have to have the right problems/type of mouth.

Furthermore, a little gap in your teeth quickly turns into a train wreck as your teeth grow. You'll soon learn what truly ugly is if you take them off. Sure, you wont have braces in highschool (which, again, no one cares about) but you'll be ugly as **** when you enter into the workforce. People don't care if you have braces, most don't notice. But people /DO/ care if you have ugly crocked teeth.

Finally (and obviously) it would be INCREDIBLY painful if you took of your braces. I say, if you want to keep acting like this, go for it.Take em off. But you'll end up in the E.R. Take off your braces and you'll have a reason to cry!

My advice: Get over it. You're truly being pathetic. You are a fortunate person, realize it. Your parents and your dentist were doing whats best for you. By the time the 8 months is up - you wont even notice you have them.

first of all get over yourself. And second of all first you said months then weeks. And finally why didn't u just tell them u wanted invisaligns and if u did whatever parents know best about this trust me I had braces for 4 years and now my teeth are BEAUTIFUL and it was worth everyday of pain and nasty looking braces to have a move smile like I have today. Whatever u do no pliers unless u want to be in a lot of pain
